September Theme - Family tree, Friends and Me

    September 1, 2019

For this month we will be exploring the theme of "Family tree, Friends and Me." Our focus will
on the family unit, both local and extended. We will be learning different facts about families
and who make up our family, including our pets.
    Family:
What they do together. For example, families work, play, learn, celebrate, travel and have fun
together. Families enjoy being together. What does your family like to do together?
    Friends:
How can young children learn to build relationship and get along with each other? For example,
the “I am Special” song teaches children not only that they are special, their friends are too.
    I am Special
I am special, I am special.
So are you, so are you.
We are very special, we are very special.
Yes it's true, yes it's true!
    All about me:
No one looks like, acts like, or feels exactly like anyone else, even in the same family. The All about me
song help children learn about their bodies and numbers.
I have 10 little fingers and 10 little toes.
Two little arms and one little nose
one little mouth and two little ears.
Two little eyes for smiles and tears.
One little head and two little feet One little chin; that’s ME, complete!
    Feature books:
On the Day You Were Born by Debra Fraser Harcourt Children's Books (2005)
