Toddlers 18 to 24 Months
In the Caterpillars-2 group, our daily schedule is designed to meet the developmental needs of curious and energetic toddlers aged 18 to 24 months. The day begins with a warm welcome and free play, where toddlers can explore toys, puzzles, and sensory materials that stimulate their curiosity and imagination. Circle Time follows, where children sing songs, listen to stories, and discuss the day’s theme. This helps expand their language skills and encourages social interaction as they learn to take turns and participate in group activities.
Mid-morning, toddlers engage in hands-on learning centres, such as block-building, art projects, or simple sorting games. These activities promote fine motor skills, problem-solving, and early cognitive development. Outdoor play is a favourite part of the day, allowing toddlers to run, climb, and practice gross motor skills while enjoying fresh air. Teachers lead games and activities encouraging movement and coordination, such as chasing bubbles or playing with balls.
After lunch and a well-deserved nap, the afternoon continues with creative activities like finger painting, dancing, or pretend play. These activities encourage self-expression and help toddlers build confidence. Sensory play with water, sand, or textured materials keeps their curiosity alive, while simple group activities teach cooperation and sharing. The day wraps up with storytime or quiet play, allowing toddlers to wind down before going home. Each day in the Caterpillars-2 group is filled with fun, discovery, and learning tailored to the needs of growing toddlers.
